NASHVILLE

Situated on the Cumberland River in the northwestern section of the Nashville Basin, Nashville is Tennessee's capital city. Deemed "Music City, USA," Nashville is not only the country music capital of the world but a leading city for songwriting and production of many genres of music. Pop, rock, bluegrass, blues, soul, and contemporary Christian artists record in Nashville's hallowed studios for its prestigious record labels. Nashville has emerged in recent decades as one of the most vibrant cities in the south. It blends the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry with a rich history and laid-back honky-tonk vibes with an air of sophistication and high culture; the juxtaposition of these key parts of the city's identity give it a unique vibrancy.

THE GRAND OLE OPRY

The Grand Ole Opry is a country music stage concert that has showcased the biggest rising stars in country music since 1925. Originally created as a radio show, the Opry is one of the longest running broadcasts in history. Dedicated to honoring country music and its history, the Opry showcases a mix of legends and contemporary chart-toppers performing a range of musical genres in addition to comedic performances and skits. The Opry's rise to fame contributed greatly to Nashville’s development. In its early years, it was held in the famed Ryman Auditorium; while it runs from February to October in its new facility, it returns to the Ryman from November to January. The Opry welcomes visiting ensembles and hosts performances in both Opry Plaza and Ryman Plaza.

FRIENDSHIP CONCERTS IN TENNESSEE

Friendship concerts are a featured experience on our tours and are at the heart of our mission to foster cultural connections through music. We benefit from a vast international network in the choral world built over our thirty years of helping choirs share their music both in the United States and abroad. Your choir will share a venue and a concert program with a host choir from the region. Your singers will have the opportunity to hear their host choir's repertoire (often showcasing local musical styles) and to share your own repertoire in turn. Fellowship time is planned around the friendship concert, giving both choirs the chance to mingle and enjoy the camaraderie of creating cross-cultural connections through a shared love of music.

RCA STUDIO B

RCA Studio B, a small, unassuming building on Nashville's Music Row, is the oldest surviving recording studio in Nashville. It is the home of the "Nashville Sound", a country music style characterized by crooning lead vocals, sophisticated background vocals, and smooth strings. Over 35,000 songs, including over 1,000 American hits, were recorded here by stars including Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton. Your ensemble can tour this historic space and can also participate in an optional recording session.
